COLUMBUS – State Representative Eugene R. Miller (D-Cleveland) is happy to announce that 186 scholarships are available for students to attend one of Ohio’s career colleges and schools.
Three scholarships offered through the Legislative Scholarship Program offer full tuition, which leaves books and registration fees the responsibility of the student. Twenty other scholarships offer half-tuition, and 163 will be for a specific amount.
“This opportunity gives real access to higher education to graduates of the Class of 2008,” Rep. Miller said. “These schools teach skills that prepare our young people for jobs in Ohio’s growing businesses and industries. It gives them opportunity, and it gives us a well-skilled and well-prepared workforce for our future.”
These scholarships are provided by the Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools through the cooperation of Ohio’s business and trade schools.
Students can find more information by contacting their high school counselors, or by contacting Rep. Miller’s legislative aide at (614) 466-7954 or latonya.dowdell@ohr.state.oh.us.
The deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 30, 2008
